Analysis of Coil Parameters and Comparison of Circular, Rectangular, and Hexagonal Coils Used in WPT System for Electric Vehicle Charging

In this paper, the major factors that affect performance of wireless power transfer systems, such as coil inner radius and number turns, are discussed. A comparison three shapes covering coreless case, case with ferrite, ferrite aluminum is also carried out. Another proposed by addressing combination different in (WPT)system. The analysis covers coupling coefficient, mutual inductance, self-inductance. Due to complexity calculating these parameters, finite element (FEA) method adopted using Ansys Maxwell software. An introduction typical WPT system for electric vehicle charging presented.
